General information about the VNVI
The Association of the Dutch Sealants Industry: Vereniging Nederlandse Voegkit Industrie (VNVI) was founded on March 2, 1999 by a large group of companies who have production and/or marketing of sealants as their main activity. The VNVI is a fully independent legal entity and is registered at the Chamber of Commerce in The Hague.
The goal of the VNVI is the representation of the interests of its member companies in the broadest sense of the word, both nationally and internationally. The main activity is to supply independent information about sealant products and its application. The VNVI is the organisation in the Netherlands for market parties, governments, associations of interest, and other organisations. By transmitting knowledge the VNVI wants to contribute to practical standards, directives and legislation for the use of sealants for building and industry.
Sealants are used with success in many divers applications in the course of which the unique qualities of sealants play a crucial role, such as:
- high flexibility of the material;
- elastic, thus follows the movement of a construction well;
- adherence and filling in one;
- unlimited length of the joint;
- high energy saving due to adherence (seam less and chink less);
- also when put under water watertight;
- hygienic (seam less and chink less);
- repaintable, so all colours are possible;
- mendable.
Within the VNVI a Strategic Committee and a Technical Committee are active. Important subjects which are dealt with within the VNVI, are:
- public relations and lobbying;
- promotion of concerns;
- standardisation (for example ISO 11.600 and practical guides);
- certification;
- test methods;
- quality systems;
- sustainable building;
- hazard and environmental labelling;
- occupational health legislation;
- environmental legislation;
- international legislation.
The VNVI is full member of and/or working in cooperation with other national and international organisations, such as:
