General information
The Association of the Dutch Adhesive Industry: Vereniging Nederlandse Lijmindustrie (VNL) is an association of Dutch adhesive manufacturers and -importers. The VNL represents an estimated minimum of 80% of the market of adhesives in the Netherlands.

The goal of the VNL is to promote the interests for her members as much as possible, both national as well as international.

The VNL was founded on January 1, 1992 by the adhesives section members of the Association of Chemical Industry (VNCI) and the Association of Rubber and Plastics Industry (NVR) . Within the newly formed entity (VNL) the NVR is responsible for the secretarial work.

Likewise, on the same date the NVR became a collective member of the VNCI, allowing the individual association members to benefit from all the services and expertise of both umbrella-organisations. The three associations are now jointly housed in the same office-building, to further enhance their close co-operation.

The VNL is a fully independent legal entity and is registered at the Chamber of Commerce in The Hague. Becoming a member is only possible for companies who are a normal or extraordinary member of the VNCI or the NVR.

The VNL is member of the European adhesive organisation: the Fédération Européenne des Industries de Colles et Adhésifs (FECIA) and is through the NVR affiliated with the Federation Dutch Rubber- and Plastics Industry (NRK) .

The VNL is subdivided into the following sections:

  • Industrial adhesives
  • Flooring adhesives
  • Tile adhesives
  • Consumer adhesives

And the following working groups:

  • "Gevelplaatverlijming"
  • "Gevaarlijke stoffen"
  • "Kozijnverbindingen"

  • The VNL accepts "The Business Charter for Sustainable Development. Principles for Environmental Management" of the International Chamber of Commerce.
